our studio policies

Please note: You agree to these policies upon booking.

studio cleanliness guidelines

Please ensure the studio is left in an immaculate condition by adhering to the following:
  1. Shoe Policy: Remove shoes or wear shoe covers when entering the white floor area.
  2. Debris Removal: Sweep up any debris or materials resulting from your session.
  3. Trash Disposal: Dispose of all trash in the designated studio bins.
  4. Furniture & Props: Fold any used blankets and return pillows to their proper storage.

studio policies

  1. No Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the studio at all times.
  2. No Open Flames: Creating fires or using flames in or around the studio is not allowed. If using candles, ensure they are extinguished before leaving and keep them away from flammable materials, such as roll paper.
  3. No Glitter or Confetti: Glitter and confetti are not permitted in the studio unless explicitly approved by the studio owners.
  4. No Pets: Pets are not allowed inside the studio unless prior permission is granted by the studio owners.
  5. Illegal Substances: The use or presence of illegal substances is strictly forbidden in or around the studio.
  6. Sexual Acts & Boudoir: Sexual acts or the filming of such acts are not allowed in the studio. Boudoir photography is permitted, and privacy curtains are provided for this purpose.
  7. Hanging Items: Do not use nails or tacks to hang items on the walls. Please utilize Command strips, tape, or mounting putty.
  8. Furniture Handling: Please do not drag furniture across the studio floor to prevent damage.
  9. Damage and Fines: Any damage to furniture, props, backdrops, or other studio items will result in charges for repair or reimbursement. Additionally, any damage or excessive mess will incur an immediate $100 fine.
  10. Equipment & Props: You are welcome to bring additional equipment and props into the space, provided that all items are removed at the conclusion of your reserved time slot. If any items are left behind, they must be claimed and retrieved within 48 hours.To retrieve a forgotten item, please contact us to arrange access to the studio.
  11. Music & Noise: Please ensure that music volume is kept at a reasonable level to avoid disturbances.

setup and cleanup

All setup and teardown activities must be completed within the Renter’s reserved time slot. Please ensure you allocate sufficient time for both to vacate the studio promptly at the end of your booking. This ensures a smooth transition for subsequent guests and demonstrates courtesy to all parties.

The Renter's keyless entry access is limited to the duration of their rental period. Please note that refunds will not be issued for late arrivals. Renters are encouraged to plan accordingly to arrive on time or reschedule in advance if necessary.

If a session exceeds the allotted booking time, the renter will incur an additional charge of $75 for each additional half-hour. Renters who wish to extend their session may check availability on our website and add extra time, provided there is no subsequent booking in the next time slot.

No early entry or late exits are allowed.

reschedule policy

To reschedule your session, a minimum of 36 hours' notice is required. When submitting your reschedule request, please be prepared to provide the new date and time.

Please note that each booking may only be rescheduled once.

Rescheduling is not permitted if the original session date has already passed.

Reschedules past the deadline can be made for a fee of $65. The fee must be paid before the reschedule of the booking. 

cancellation policy

  • Full Refund: Cancellations made at least one week prior to the scheduled time will receive a full refund.
  • Partial Refund: Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled time will receive a 50% refund. The remaining 50% will be retained as a cancellation fee.

booking requirements

Renters must agree to all of these policies, which is considered our “Renter’s Agreement” at checkout. They must adhere to and follow the policies listed on this page and they must pay in full online in order to lock down desired booking time slot. Booking is first come, first serve and we reserve the right to cancel or deny a booking request if a contract is not signed or if the explanation for booking is not valid.
  • Refunds for Lighting: We will not give refunds due to unfavorable lighting conditions due to the weather and time of day.
  • Session Capacity: Up to 15 people are allowed in the space at a time - if there are more guests, you must inquire about an EVENT BOOKING.

hours of operation

Our studio is open seven days a week, Monday through Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Please note that during the colder months, daylight hours are shorter, and it typically gets dark around 5:00 PM.

payments

Payments are to be made in full online at the time of booking in order to secure your time slot. Renter’s credit card information will not be shared and will only be used to pay for their booking.

parking information

Parking is available for our guests and clients in the lot located in front of the studio. If the lot is full, additional parking is available along New York Avenue or near the El Monterey Motel. Please note that valuables should not be left in your vehicle, as the studio cannot be held responsible for any theft or damage to your vehicle during your visit. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

theft injury and incidents

Light House Studio is not liable for any theft, injury, or other incidents involving the Renter or their guests during the rental period.

renter party

The renter accepts responsibility in educating their party in the studio policies in this agreement.
